A place to whine and cry

I feel the need to type out my feelings and frustrations.  Let's be honest here.  It's not like anyone I know actually sees this so I feel I'm pretty safe.

I'm terribly frustrated and sad.  It took literally two years after having my son to get consistent at going to the gym again.  TWO YEARS!  I'm so much weaker than I was even when I was 6 months pregnant with him.  I feel like I'm having a much harder time getting myself back.  I get injured more and I'm more tired.  Finally, I realized that I was lacking a goal.

My friend Angela suggested that I look into powerlifting, so I did.  That research led me to Strongman and that is where I feel like I found my goal.  In July, my workout partner and I went to a Strongman competition and met a husband and wife that both compete.  They told us about a Strongwoman Challenge.  It was an event to introduce women into the sport and it was to raise money for an organization called ROX and it was only a month away.  My partner and I trained extremely hard for that month.  It was very hard on us physically and mentally.  We ended up taking a whole week from the gym just to recover afterwards.  Anyway, I did so much better than I expected and felt I was in my element.

Afterwards, I got a workout plan from one of the judges and was on my way to build up to the next competition.  Unfortunately, in the two months of training, I've managed to sprain my wrist and now hurt my back.

AND that's where my whining and crying is coming in.  I'm so fucking demoralized.  I'm pissed off.  I finally figured out a goal and had a plan and it's all went to shit.  At first, it was the wrist and I ignored it.  After six weeks I saw that it wasn't getting any better, so I decided to go a month or two with light weight.  I can't even manage to do that because at the end of my first week my back muscle cramped up and I'm in terrible pain.  I guess I'm going to have to become a cardio queen for awhile until this heals.

Teenage Angst

We were at the park the other day and witnessed typical teenage angst.  There was a young teenage couple arguing, yelling and cursing next to a very busy playground.  I can only assume that part of this was for attention of other people in the park.  Thankfully, there was no physical violence.

There were things that I could have said or possibly should have said,  but I didn't.  I wish that the young couple will realize that more likely than not, in a week this will be one of many arguments and will more than likely be part of their breakup.  In six months to a year, they will start dating new people but they will complain still about each other now and then.  In a couple of years, they will still not like each other.  In five or more years, they will not even remember that argument.  However, they will know how each other is doing because of friends or social media.  They will one day either be genuinely happy for the other person or quite possibly genuinely happy for themselves for moving on and seeing how they avoided that train wreck.

In any case, I decided to remember this moment.  It happens to everyone.  I remember being that drama loving teenager.  I remember arguing for argument sake, even into my first marriage.  I wish people could find out earlier in life that it's so much nicer when you realize that everyone makes mistakes and eventually all that drama was a waste of energy.  I guess you have to go through it to appreciate the lesson in the end.

Operation New Leaf

Well, it only took a year, but I finally got all that stuff out of my basement.  The stuff I didn't sell went to consignment shops or was donated.  I'm so please that I got that monkey off my back.  Onto the next thing...only...I don't know what the next thing is yet.

Someone said I should start a blog...

I told them that I had one, but I don't post to it much and it is pretty boring.  Maybe my Facebook statuses are more exciting.  I guess I should post my good ones here instead.

So, I was sitting at the table eating breakfast with Gibson and started having rambling thoughts:

I'm watching the cars rush by outside as parents rush to get kids to the bus stop then get to work and I'm thankful that we don't have to rush like that and I can let Montana sleep in.

Gibson finally decided to eat scrambled eggs again and with spinach in them too. This is truly a blessing since he's won't hardly eat anything healthy.

I dropped my toast with fruit spread, but I caught it! Unfortunately, I caught it fruit spread side next to my right boob.

Anyway, I was really feeling quite smug about what a fantastic day it was going to be and how it was full of win until that toast thing happened. It was like karma was telling to quit being so cocky.

Oh well, today is supposed to be warmer.

Gibson's 2nd Birthday

Here we are at the beginning of 2014.  I've signed up for the 100k Transformation Challenge through Bodybuilding.com.  I'm looking way bigger than I thought I was.  I was actually embarrassed to post my "before" pictures.  I wasn't even like that when I weighed my heaviest.  Really, there are two winners and each get 50k.  So far, I'm not off to a very good start.

Today, we celebrated my son's 2nd birthday.  We did a construction themed birthday.  It was unbelievably hard to find that type party supplies.  So, I went to Home Depot and go the cheap aprons and carpenter pencils.  I found some cheap 3 ft. tape measures at Walmart.  Finally, I found some wood coloring construction equipment.  All-in-all, I think the goody bags turned out good.  I also made his cake.  It wasn't has hard as his zoo one.  The best part is that I didn't have to make several parts of the cake a couple weeks ahead of time.

2013 Coming to a Close

Well, the year has just flown by.  I am ready to start the new year.   I think my theme for 2014 is to downsize and refocus.

I'm continuing to work on The New Leaf project.  I found it's been easier to sell our pre-owned clothes rather than new clothes on Ebay.  I still have plenty to go through, but I'll get there.  One bite at a time.

I'm also refocusing on my fitness goals.  I'm going to focus on gaining strength and continue my 5k runs.  I'm going to start eating in a deficit and see how that goes for a month or two.

I'm also going to focus on keeping the house in better shape.  I say this the day after Christmas while it looks like a toy store puked all over my floor.  Oh well, I'll get there.

Figuring out how to let them just go...`

I've come to a realization today.  I took both of my children to the local children's museum.  This is an activity I would normally cringe about.  Me, by myself, with both of my kids, at a museum.  I was prepped for it to be stressful.  So I did what should have been second nature.  I just let them play. You may be thinking, "Well, of course, why wouldn't you do that?"  The answer is that I don't know why I haven't thought of it before.

Let me explain.  When my daughter was an only child, we had pent up all our hopes and dreams on this one little human.  I had waited for her for so long and when she finally got here I wanted to show her the world.  We dragged that little 1-3 year old girl all over the place.  We took her hiking, to the zoo, to different museums, festivals, nice restaurants and out of state vacations.  We did this in an attempt to make her life as full as possible.  It sounds great, except when we went to these places we expected her to be on our schedule.  When we, the parents, decided that she had done an activity long enough, we would push her along with promises of bigger and better things to see.  We didn't do it to rush her really or to be mean.  We did it because we felt that if she didn't see absolutely everything to see that she would miss out.  We now realize she doesn't really remember any of it at all.

Here we are with kid #2.  We've not been to near as many places with my son as we have with my daughter. One reason is because he just doesn't have the same demeanor.  He gets loud and irritated easily. Also, we just don't have the money to do all those things.  I do feel like he's missing out.

Back to my point, today I took them to the children's museum...by myself.  We went for museum day so it was free for us to go.  I finally did the opposite of what I normally do.  I just let them play.  Since I wasn't paying I didn't care if they spent the entire time playing at one station.  I didn't care whether they knew there was a whole upstairs section or not.  We spent four hours at the museum.  Most of that time was at the water table then the Lego table. Both are things they can do at home.   But guess what?  It was the most relaxing time I could have had with both kids.  So, what did I learn?  For God's sake just let them play.  They don't have to see everything and it's more likely to be a fond memory than a disappointing one.

End of Summer

Well, here we are at the beginning of September.  The only goal I've achieved so far is listing all my stock on Ebay.  If you want to see what I have for sale you can check it out at http://stores.ebay.com/Blue-Star-Knick-Knacks.

So here is what we've been up to... Montana was involved with the community theater with their production of Seussical.  She was cast as Young Kangaroo.  She was awesome.  However, it did take up most of our summer.  Rehearsals were 4-5 days a week from 7-10pm.  That's makes life hard for a little girl who's bed time is 8pm.

As soon as she show was over it was time to start school.  We decided to go with and online K12 school.  As of right now, we really like the program.  We are just going through the assessments and seeing where she is at and what she needs to review at this point.

I've been doing The New Rules of Lifting for Women for a month.  I'm down 2.75 inches overall, but not much else in the way of improvement.

And there you have it, that's what I've been doing  lately.

Why the hate on the 'burbs?

Here is a random thought.  What I notice, is that there seems to be a lot of "hate" on the 'burbs.  In full disclosure, I live in suburbia.  There are things I like and things I don't like about it.  So, here is my list of what there is to like and dislike about living in the 'burbs.

What I like:

  • Not a lot of traffic
  • Neighborhood kids for my kids to play with
  • Clean
  • Fairly safe
  • Neighbors notice if something is not quite right.
  • A great area for outdoor exercise
What I don't like:
  • Not much diversity
  • There seems to be an awful lot of rules and regulations.
  • Busy bees
  • I have to drive to most places
  • It's really hard to "bond" with neighborhood folks, when you don't watch sports or drink.
  • I would love to have goats or chickens or both and obviously that's not happening around here.
Ideally, I would like to be a bit more in the country.  It seems like the hate comes from city dwellers.  So tell me, what's so great about the city?  I would like to know if there's something that I'm not seeing that I may be missing out on.

When It All Seems So Overwhelming...

Well, I've set my goals annnnnnnnnnd...I've not even started on them.  I feel like I have so much to do that I'm having a hard time setting aside the time to start my journey into minimalism.  How do I get over the hump?

Another thing I'm struggling with is my son.  He's very strong willed.  When he does something wrong and we try to discipline him he just laughs and thinks it's a game.  We've tried to put him in the corner...he leaves or he laughs when we try to keep him there.  We've tried just telling him "NO"...he doesn't listen.  We've tried slapping his hand...he laughs.  The only time he does listen is when my husband yells at him in his "briar voice".  Basically, he yells at him loudly with a deep voice.  I don't want my house to be full of yelling all the time and besides my husband isn't home all day to yell at him.

Do you have a strong willed child that's around two?  How do you discipline them?

New Leaf Project

As I said before, I'm a project person.  I'm getting ready to immerse myself into a new project.  I'm calling it the New Leaf Project.  What is it?  Well, I've decided to explore the world of minimalism.  The first thing I need to do is get rid of my crap.  I'm not going all extremist (though the temptation is there).  I'm going to start small.  I'm going to post my minimalism and health (totally different topic) goals on here.  I'm going to do this in small and hopefully attainable chunks.  It may not seem like a lot at first, since I did become inadvertently busy this summer.

Why do I want to do this?  Well, we have a large amount of debt right now.   My husband and I both feel the stress from it and we feel we never have any time.  The list of things to clean, shred, repair keep piling up and not getting done.    My hope is by having less material things we will reduce our debt, get more time and have less stress.

I'm also going to work on my fitness goals as well.  My boy is 17 months old now and I've been struggling in the "being healthy" department.  My lower back has been hurting and I recently dislocated a rib.  This has demoralized me quite a bit.  I feel if I exercise and eat smarter then I will feel better.  So here are my short term goals:

New Leaf Project:

In the next two weeks (by 7/14) I will have all of my old business stock posted for sale.

By August 1st, I will have all of our old clothes that we don't wear or it doesn't fit either for sale, sold or donated.

By September 1st, business stock should be all sold.

Fitness Me:

My goal is to lose 10 lbs by August 1st.
I will do progress pictures and measurements monthly.

What's going on?

Well, it's been about four months since I last posted.  As always, we have a lot going on.  We celebrated Montana's birthday in February with a Hello Kitty themed party.  She had a lot of little friends come and it was crazy around here.

We've been finishing up on "school box".  I would say that we are behind, but we're really only behind on the lessons that came with the curriculum.  I've relaxed quite a bit, since I've noticed that Montana already knows the stuff the curriculum is teaching.  I'm not quite sure how she jumped ahead, but it seems like a switch just flipped from "struggling" to "I got it".  We registered with our local K12 public school for her "official" kindergarten, next year.  I suspect we'll go through it pretty fast.  I think it will be nice to have some extra support.  I'm sure I'll post on how the program is working out for us.

April started morel mushroom hunting.  It was a terrible season for me.  I think part of it, is that I have a very limited amount of time that I get to go out without the kids.  Montana wouldn't be so bad, (except the whining).  However, Gibson has just started walking and I have to take him in the hiking stroller which means that I have to stay on the trails.

The first weekend in April, I took my first backpacking trip.  It was just local and beginner's trip through our local metroparks.  It was really a treat and I loved every minute of it.

I hope to get to go again soon.

Well, I'm off until next time.  Hopefully, it won't be long.

Gibson's First Birthday!

Well, today my boy turned one.  It's amazing how fast time flies.  I'm glad he's starting to get his own little personality and starting to do all those cool things, like walk, talk and feed himself.  However, it makes me be a bit sad as well.  I feel like post-partum anxiety (PPA) robbed me of his first 7 months.  He's my last baby.  I'll never have another one, and I can only really remember these last 5-6 months.  I'll never get that cuddle time back.  That breaks my heart.  At the same time, I'm so very glad that we've finally bonded.  He's so different from his sister, he's loud, rough and Daddy is his favorite.  But it just melts my heart to no end, when I walk into a room and he gives me the biggest, sweetest smile.

Happy Birthday Gibson!  You are so wonderful and we all love you so much.  You make our family complete.

Here are some pictures.

It's been a good ride but...

We are shutting www.BlueStarBaby.com down tonight.  This makes me sad but it was worth a shot.  The economy is bad, people just don't want to spend the extra money to support items made in America.  What really put the nail in the coffin was that more and more of my vendors were starting to have their products manufactured in China.  Again, it all goes back to the economy.  We still have a few items, mostly baby clothes and toys.  If you're interested in these email us at customerservice@bluestarbaby.com.

Everyone have a wonderful New Year.  Now off to our next adventure.

Wednesday, December 26, 2012

I’ve not posted for a long time, so here is my year in review.  It’s been a hectic year.  We had our baby boy last January.  That was something that was very hard on me.  I never really thought that post-partum depression (PPD) would ever affect me.  It wasn’t really PPD, it was more post-partum anxiety (PPA).  It took about 10 months before I really started to feel like I was getting a handle on it.  Of course it helped that the biggest stress in our lives was coming to the end.  I still have episodes but they are getting further and further apart and I definitely have better coping skills.  One of the best things I've done for myself this year was to arrange time with a professional to teach stress handling and coping skills.  For someone like me, who tries not to take medication, this was best path.

The finishing of the basement has been an elephant on our chests for over a year.  Everything was like a big block puzzle where you have to move certain pieces all around the board before you get the picture.  But now it’s done (except organizing).  Finally, little Gibson got into his own bedroom.  That’s has definitely loosened things up around here too.

I’m closing down my website www.BlueStarBaby.com.  One by one my vendors have started getting their items manufactured in China.  The economy is too poor for people to justify paying more for an item when they can get all the crappy ones for so much cheaper.  Besides, I’m homeschooling and have a baby in the house.  There is just not enough hours in the day.

Montana shot two commercials but so far, neither one has aired.  Oh well, she got paid just the same.  The experience has certainly given me insight on why movie stars think they are so important.  Everyone from the director to the cleanup crew tells you how wonderful you are all the time.  With so many people saying that, it’s almost impossible for the actors not to believe it.  I met two stage moms in my experience with Montana’s modeling.  They both had spent multiple years away from their husbands and other children to live in LA.  It’s not that they had a job already out there.  They were out there trying to get jobs.  I just don’t see how you can sacrifice your family for something like that.  Don’t get me wrong, I would spend multiple months on location with Montana, IF she already had the job.  But I would not go out there for the pipe dream, not when there is a very real family at home.  Montana also tried and disliked gymnastics.  She’s doing martial arts right now and seems to like it.  I have a feeling we’ll be back in dance before too long though.

Now that the basement is done, Bob has a bit of time to work on his own projects.  He basically built a house and he deserves a break.

Finally, my parents celebrated being married for 50 years.  What an achievement!  I love them both very much and I hope they have many more years to come.  So there it is, my year in review.

Now, I’m not one for resolutions but I’ve got a couple I want…no…NEED to do.   I’ve had a real hard time getting back into the groove of eating right and working out.  I NEED to do better at that this coming year.  Also, I need to utilize our parks and the cheap or free programs they offer.  There are things I want to do and these two resolutions will help get me there.

I hope everyone had wonderful holidays and here is to looking forward to the New Year.

Gibson's Arrival to the World

Well, after I found out my baby was breech, I had spent countless hours trying to find ways to make him turn so I wouldn't have a C-section.  I had tried the ECV and had started the Webster Technique.  I was also doing moves shown on spinningbabies.com.  But alas, at my last appointment he was still breech.  He did move more sideways, but breech just the same.

We went to what was my last prenatal appointment.  The baby looked good on the NST, there were no contractions and they did a quick ultrasound to check the position of the baby (still breech).  We decided to go ahead and schedule the C-section for January 24th at 8am.  We went to get some food to take home and decided to watch a movie that night.  We ate then started the movie, that's when the fun began.

I felt a contraction, not unlike what I had felt for the past couple of weeks so I didn't give it much thought.  About ten minutes later I felt another one.  This one was a bit stronger so I decided I was going to time them.  The next contraction was six minutes later, I told my husband, "If this keeps up then I think we'll have a show tonight."  The next contraction was about five minutes apart and after that they ran together.  We called the doctor and by the time the doctor called back the contractions were right on top of  each other.  We desperately called my niece to come watch my daughter.  She was still at work so we called my parents to come to the house as we were not going to be able to wait any longer.  We thought my niece showed up but it was our neighbors, I pleaded with him to take her to their house as we had to go right then.

He took our daughter over to their house at 8:20 p.m. and we were on the road.  I begged and pleaded for him to run the red lights but it was icy and my husband wouldn't do it. Here is where it gets blurry to me, I know I was screaming for him to run lights and I know I was screaming for him to call 911.  I know when we got to the hospital, I screamed and cursed more than I ever have in my life.  I know that I while I screamed and begged for relief and for the baby to stay in, I couldn't do anything but push.  As soon as I got into the hospital they checked me and said I was complete.  Basically, I went from 0-10 cm. and ready to deliver in under an hour and my water didn't even break.

They double checked the baby's position then wheeled me into the OR.  They finally gave me a spinal block to which my response was (sorry for the foul language), "That is fucking fantastic."  They then proceeded to the C-section.  I didn't feel anything except some pulling.  I knew my little guy was hung up because two doctors were pulling on him with all they had.  Apparently his hands were behind his head and his cord was wrapped around his neck 2-3 times. At 9:19pm on January 20th, They finally got him out and took him to another room.  My husband assured me that he was okay, but part of me still thinks he was just saying that to keep me calm.  The rest was pretty uneventful.  They tied my tubes (because God knows, I don't want to do that again), and stitched me up.  The spinal made me shake pretty bad so I didn't hold the baby because I was afraid I would drop him.

So all in all, I'm actually thankful that we didn't get him to go head down before labor.  I'm positive, that I would've birthed him on the side of the highway if he would've flipped.  I always thought the scenes in movies were totally bogus with a woman screaming and hollering with a labor moving in a matter of minutes, but I now know it can really happen.  I'm very sore but I'm able to move and do more every day.  I look forward to feeling human again.  I'm so glad the little guy is finally here, everyone just loves him and we love him more and more with each passing minute.

Operation: Spin Baby Spin (Take Two - Webster Technique)

I've had people ask about my chiropractor appointment.  So I figured I'd just  post it here.

‎My appointment went good. Usually, this technique has the best results at around 34-36 weeks, so I'm late in the game. At my Friday OB appointment they were going to schedule a C-section for this Tuesday. But during the NST the heartbeat was much lower in the belly so they decided to do a quick U/S to see the position. He was still breech but he's rolled up into a tighter ball. The Dr. gave me one more week to continue with the chiropractor to see if it helps. I've had a lot of movement and contractions this weekend, but nothing terribly consistent and not strong enough for me to go in. They go on about 2-4 hours (just enough so I don't get any sleep), then settle down.

During just about this whole pregnancy I've had severe back pain, but it would come and go. My OB wanted to refer me to a chiropractor around 30 weeks because of it, but the baby seemed to shift and the pain wasn't as bad so I just didn't go. Oddly enough, now that I'm trying the Webster Technique, she has been working on the exact area where my back has been hurting. I expect to see the chiropractor about 3-5 times this week, unless I go into labor. No matter what happens, I will either be getting a C-section or induced on the 24th

Operation: Spin Baby Spin

As you know, I'm pregnant and due January 24, 2012.  Our little peanut has been sitting in a full breech position and I'm not particularly in favor of a C-section, so we've decided to try a few things to get this baby to spin to a head down position.  We have only about a week to a week and a half to get him in position.

So, in this adventure, I'm going to recap my experience with the External Cephalic Version (ECV).  An EVC is there the doctor uses their hands on the outside of your belly to try to manipulate the baby into a head down position.

My regular Ob/Gyn had suggested trying the ECV process in hopes to avoid a C-section.  He sent me to a perinatal specialist for high risk pregnancies.  I've not really been considered high risk for this pregnancy except for my "advance maternal age" and my Gestational Diabetes (GD).  I had seen the high risk group of doctors when I was pregnant with Montana, so I was familiar with the group.

The day before my ECV I had an ultrasound to check the position, size and amount of fluid around the baby.  All in all, I was a very good candidate for the procedure.  This is not my first child, so my uterus would be more flexible and the baby is actually measuring small (kinda rare for GD).  This doctor's office has a success rate of 60-70% of the baby turning.  They also have about a 1% chance of the procedure ending up in an emergency C-section.  I figured those were pretty good odds, so I went with it.  I was scheduled for 8:00am the next morning.

I showed up at 8:05am for the procedure (we forgot to account for morning traffic).   Apparently, they expected me there at 6:00am, too bad they didn't tell me that.  It was not a big deal and they proceeded to take me to the OR prep area.  They connected me to an Non-Stress Test (NST) monitor.  They were basically checking the baby's heart rate and to see if I was having any contractions.  Then they started looking for a vein to stick the IV.  I was not allowed to have any fluids or food after midnight the night before, so I was dehydrated and apparently my veins were very small.  The nurse stuck me in the top of the left hand and crapped out that vein.  10 hours later it still has a large knot and is bruised.  That hurt really bad and it felt like she tried to connect my IV with a garden hose.  My husband said that it looked like I was going to punch the nurse.  She decided to let a different nurse try the second stick.  Let me tell you, that second nurse is a pro.

The resident doctor came in and starting talking about what was going to happen, the risks and an epidural.  I almost stopped everything right there.  I was previously assured that I was not going to have an epidural.  I'm going to have them poking in my spine in about a week anyway, I did NOT want an epidural for this.  I explained this to the resident.  She seemed a bit confused and stated that usually they use an epidural but not always (I think she was covering her tracks).  But she checked with the main doctor and they confirmed they would not be using any medication.  Of course, when you start hearing all of the risks out loud you start getting nervous.  But, I wanted to at least try it and I knew I could stop the procedure at anytime.

So here's how it went.  They use an ultrasound machine to confirm size, fluid and position of the baby.  There are two doctors that work on this procedure together.  They lube you up with a lot of gel then push down hard on the lower belly to try to lift the baby up and out of the pelvis. They then take one hand by the baby's head and another hand around his little butt and they start trying to rotate him.  My husband said it when they lift the baby out of the pelvis he could see the outline of the baby for the most part.  They tried to spin him one way and when that didn't work they tried to get him to spin the other way.  The doctors would stop now and then to check the baby's heart rate and to confirm position.  He would move about 45 degrees in either position, but he ended up just going back and sitting in the pelvis again.  We monitored the baby for approximately 90 minutes after the procedure, and all was well.  So in this case the ECV was unsuccessful.

Before I did this, I was asking different forums and my friends on Facebook about this procedure.  I received a lot of negative responses about the procedure, but I guess I never really saw enough negative to make me not try it.  So below I'm going to answer basically my own questions:

  • How does the ECV feel?  This is kind of hard to explain.  It's not comfortable, but it's not really painful.  There were moments when there would be pressure in a particular spot and my reflex was just to grab whatever was close.  My botched IV stick was much worse than the procedure and I got a charlie horse in my right calf during the procedure that hurt more.  I found it helpful to control breathing and imagine a "happy place".  My personal happy place was mushroom hunting.  All in all, I think hard labor pains hurt more.  I do not feel, any pain medication is necessary for the procedure.

  • Would I do it again?  Though my particular procedure was unsuccessful, I would do it again.  However, I personally feel I would not attempt it more than once per pregnancy.  My little guy was not distressed at all, but some babies are.  If the ECV is going to work it's going to work rather easily and the first time.  I don't think it helps anyone to continue to do it multiple times for the same pregnancy.

  • How do you feel afterwards?  I feel a bit sore.  I was told to expect some bruising on the belly.  I personally did not get bruised during the procedure.

  • What signs should I look for after the procedure, that there is a problem and what should I do?  Basically, you should look for anything that would send you to the hospital whether the procedure was done or not.  If you have bleeding, water breaking or contractions, call your doctor and head to the hospital.

  • The ECV didn't work.  What else can I try?  I'm trying techniques on www.spinningbabies.com .  I'm also going to look for a chiropractor that does the Webster Breech Technique.

Here comes my disclaimer.  I am not a health professional and I am not qualified to give any health advise.  This is simply my own personal experience.  If you are thinking of doing any of these procedures please contact and discuss this with your health provider.

Goodbye 2011. Hello 2012

Well, it's been a pretty interesting year.  We finally got to go on a family vacation.  I WAS in the best shape of my life and I found out I was pregnant. I'm not a fan of being pregnant and being pregnant most of 2011 kinda sucked.

When I was pregnant with my daughter, I was sick all the time and that was miserable.  This baby has been physically hard on me.  Everything hurts and it seems like it hurts all the time.  He should be making his arrival any day now and boy am I looking forward to it.

I'm ready for a whole new year.  Here is a list of goals for the new year:

  • Get the basement finished and hopefully mostly paid off.
  • De-clutter my life.  Every month I get overwhelmed in paperwork.  I want to move to paperless.
  • Actually run that first 5k.
  • Focus more on my business.
  • Get more organized with Montana's school time.
So, those are some of my goals.  I'm sure there are more goals that I will add on to this, but we'll see how it goes.

Happy 2012 everyone!
